Stellate Ganglion Blocks

Did you know that the stellate ganglion – a collection of sympathetic nerves – is located near the front of your neck, right below your collarbones? You actually have one on each side of your neck, and it’s shaped like an oval or star. People can receive a stellate ganglion block, which involves injecting medication into this nerve bundle, to help with a variety of circulation and pain conditions like complex regional pain syndrome and peripheral artery disease. This procedure can also be used for diagnosing sympathetically mediated pain and treating circulation problems, pain symptoms, and nerve injuries.
